TYPING ON

Privacy policy

Your typing practice should stay under your control.

Scope and contact

Updated 2026-10-28. This policy describes the current Typing On application. Contact infotypingon@gmail.com with privacy questions. The site owner must review this policy and any hosting-provider disclosures before a public launch.

Typing and custom text

Keystrokes and custom practice passages are processed in your browser. The application does not transmit them to a server. Custom source text is not included in history or report exports. It remains only on the current page while you practise.

Local preferences

Theme, chosen typing language, the daily goal, and your history preference are stored locally in this browser when storage is available. They allow the interface to remember your choices. You can remove them with your browser storage controls.

Optional results history

History is off by default. When enabled, up to 200 recent results, including their settings, aggregate scores, samples, and weak-character counts, stay in local storage until you clear them or the browser removes them. Disabling history stops new history saves but does not delete earlier results; use Clear history to delete them.

Current result and sharing

The current result is held in tab-session storage for the results page. It ends with that browser session or can be cleared with the history control. Report, history, and share actions run only when you select them. Your chosen sharing app or email service then handles what you send under its own policies.

Analytics, cookies, and advertising

No third-party analytics, tracking cookies, ad scripts, or remote fonts are enabled in this version. Advertising is disabled. A future integration must update these disclosures and implement applicable consent controls before loading tracking or advertising resources.

Hosting and communications

A public hosting provider may process network information such as IP addresses and request logs according to its own configuration and policy. Sending an email shares the content with the email provider and the recipient. Do not send passwords or confidential records in a support message.

Your choices

Use the progress controls to enable history, export it, or delete it. Browser restrictions may prevent saving. The application offers no cloud account, cross-device synchronization, or guaranteed recovery of deleted local data.

Your current typing progress will be discarded. Saved results stay in this browser.
