English typing guide
Your first test establishes a starting point. It is an opportunity to learn the interface and notice your habits, without needing to reach a particular score.
Choose a simple starting point
Select English, Beginner, and a one-minute duration. Read the first sentence before typing. Use your normal keyboard and sit where the screen is easy to see. The timer begins with your first committed input.
Keep spaces and capitals
Copy the passage as shown, including spaces and punctuation. “The garden is quiet.” begins with a capital T and ends with a full stop. Missing either changes the evaluated result. Correct a mistake with Backspace when you notice it.
Review the result
Read accuracy before comparing speed. Look at corrected errors and characters left incorrect. The result is a self-assessment, and a first attempt can be affected by unfamiliar controls.
Return with one small aim
Try another short test with the same settings. Focus on a steady pace or one troublesome key. Increase the duration when you feel comfortable following the passage.
Your next step
Choose one action from this guide for your next practice. Keep the settings comparable and review what actually changed.
